Graduate StudentEvan grew up in Wixom, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2021 with a BS in molecular genetics with a second major in human biology. It was there that he worked with Dr. Xiangshu Jin and crystallized E cadherins to determine their structure using X-ray crystallography. After graduating, he worked in the Bioprocess Development Group at Pfizer in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Here he worked in a protein engineering laboratory with the aim of using a bacterial enzyme to produce active pharmaceutical ingredients in a more efficient and environmentally friendly manner.
